Ola Electric is gearing up for an event this month where they will make several announcements. The biggest of these will be launching its most affordable electric scooter, the S1 Air. The manufacturer recently shared a post on its social media claiming that the S1 Air has been tested for more than 500,000 kilometers.
The Ola S1 Air will feature hub motors instead of the belt drive used on the S1 and S1 Pro. Originally, the S1 Air was announced with a 2.7 kW motor, but Ola upgraded it to a 4.5 kW motor. The battery pack on the scooter has a capacity of 3 kWh. Ola Electric claims a range of 125 kilometers on a single charge. Ola has not announced the charging time yet. Three riding modes will be available – Eco, Normal and Sport. The scooter has a top speed of 85 km/h.
There are some differences between the S1 and S1 Air. Ola had to cut some features to lower the price of the electric scooter. It is equipped with a telescopic fork up front instead of a single shock. The same is the case at the rear, where the single shock absorbers have been replaced by dual shock absorbers. The front and rear disc brakes have been replaced with drum brakes. The curved spine that made the S1 and S1 Pro somewhat impractical has been replaced by a flat floor. The rear armrest has also been replaced with a simpler unit.
From the outside, the S1 Air is almost identical to the S1 and S1 Pro. The LED daytime running lights, headlights, front apron, body panels and rear taillights are all retained. It will be available in five two-tone paint themes – Coral Glamor, Porcelain White, Midnight Blue and Liquid Silver.
