RattanIndia Enterprises Limited has completed the acquisition of electric motorcycle manufacturer Revolt Motors, the company announced in a regulatory filing. Founded by Rahul Sharma, co-founder of Micromax mobiles, Revolt Motors is the largest e-bike manufacturer in the country. It has more than 30 dealers and a manufacturing plant in Manesar, Haryana.
RattanIndia Enterprises now owns 100% of Revolt Motors and says it aims to significantly expand the growth of the two-wheeler company in the coming years. The manufacturer is currently retailing the RV400 electric motorcycle, which is equipped with artificial intelligence technology and over-the-air updates. Revolt says its electric motorcycles have driven more than 200 million kilometers on Indian roads.

Launched in 2019, the RV400 has a first-mover advantage in the electric motorcycle segment. Electric motorcycles haven’t been fully updated since their inception. With the acquisition, RattanIndia said it aims to create an eco-friendly, sustainable ecosystem and help accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in the country.
