Rolls-Royce sold a record 6,021 cars in 2022, the best performance in its 118-year history.

This is the first time Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has sold more than 6,000 cars in a single year. Sales are up 8% in 2022, up from a record 5,586 vehicles in 2021.

But chief executive Torsten Muller-Otvos insisted the company “is not, and will never be, a volume-driven manufacturer” — and revealed that the average selling price for a bespoke new Rolls-Royce is currently about £45. million pounds.

Custom commissions are also hitting record highs in 2022 as clients “get more imaginative and technically demanding.”

He added that the order was extended until 2023 – and Rolls-Royce was “cautiously optimistic” about 2023.

All Rolls-Royce cars are produced at the company’s headquarters in Goodwood, England, known as the House of Rolls-Royce.

There are about 2,500 employees there, and 150 new jobs were created last year alone.

In 2023, the factory will be built for 20 years; at that time, it will only produce one car, the Rolls-Royce Phantom, at a rate of one per day.

Rolls-Royce is now expanding and has acquired land east of the existing site to further develop the Bespoke division.

Cullinan and Ghost

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV is the most popular new Rolls-Royce, the company revealed.

Interestingly though, the Ghost is its best-selling model in the Asia-Pacific region.

The U.S. is Rolls-Royce’s largest overall market — said to be fueled by a new generation of young entrepreneurs drawn to the brand.

China is its second-biggest market, while Rolls-Royce has set sales records in Germany and the UK.

Now, attention turns to the Rolls-Royce Specter, the company’s first electric car.

Orders exceeded expectations and first deliveries will begin in the fourth quarter of 2023.
