Royal Enfield is probably the most popular tuned motorcycle brand in the Indian market. Here is a Royal Enfield Classic 500, converted into a helicopter. The conversion work was done by Maratha Motorcycles in Mumbai. The store named the modified Classic 500 “Monarch”. The Chopper is a motorcycle with a substantially revised steering angle and longer front forks, giving the bike an elongated look.
The bike was hand built by the shop with a lot of custom components. The chassis is custom, with a Softail swingarm and a huge 310mm rear tire. To accommodate this fat rear tire, Maratha Motorcycles had to import wheels from US-based Demons Cycle.
The front wheels measure 23″ x 3.5″, while the rear wheels measure 18″ x 10.5″. The wheels are of the Chrome Mammoth series and have 48 spokes. The tires are Vee Rubber Monster Radial, measuring 310/35 R18 at the rear and 120/70 R23 at the front.
Then, there are custom spring suspensions at the front and dual monoshock suspension units at the rear. It took thousands of man-hours to complete the job, and the final product was over 9 feet long.
Several parts are handcrafted for the motorcycle such as fuel tank, fuel cap, cone air filter, custom wide handlebars, LED multi-function handlebar end indicator with park function, custom grips, chromed controls Stem and pedals, flame-profiled brake and clutch levers, curved exhaust and leaf-patterned hand-stitched single-seater. In addition, the side panels, wide rear fenders, vertical engine belly, front license plate mounted on spring suspension and side rears with LED brake lights are custom-made.
