Royal Enfield will soon be introducing alloy wheel options on the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. HT Auto spoke to selected Royal Enfield dealers who confirmed the development, while hinting that the launch is just a few weeks away. The 650 Twins are currently available with spoked wheels and the alloy wheel option has long been a request from customers.
Considering the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 recently came with alloy wheels as standard, the 650 Twins will finally get a long-awaited feature. The alloy wheels will bring tubeless tires and weight savings, both of which will be greatly appreciated by users. It’s not just the alloys, the 650 Twins could also get visual upgrades, including exterior tweaks, revised taillight clusters and possibly new color options. The upgrade was spotted on a test mule sometime last year.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 standard alloy wheels
Unveiled globally in 2017, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 are motorcycles that have changed the game for the brand. It’s safe to say that the addition of alloy wheels will be welcome not just in India but in other markets as well, along with some level of touring capability. The fact that you can easily handle a tubeless tire flat makes the whole riding experience even better.

The update for the Royal Enfield 650 Twins will also include OBD2 compliance for the motorcycle, in line with the April 1 deadline. Not just the Interceptor and Continental GT 650, but other products in the RE stable are also expected to meet the new specification. With all these changes, there will also be small price increases across the range. The current price of RE Interceptor 650 is ¥289,000, while the price of the RE Continental GT 650 is ¥305,000 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
