Royal Enfield has reported its sales for May 2023, with the two-wheeler giant’s cumulative sales (domestic + exports) up 22% last month. The company sold 77,461 units in May, compared with 63,643 units a year earlier. Last month, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 also recorded the highest monthly sales ever in the market.
In terms of domestic sales, Royal Enfield sold 70,795 units, a 32% increase compared to 53,525 units in May 2022. However, manufacturers exported 6,666 units, down 34 percent from the 10,118 units shipped overseas in the same period last year. Year-to-date and cumulative RE sales remain at 1,50,597 units between April 2023 and May 2023, up 20% from 1,25,798 units in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

Commenting on the May sales performance, Royal Enfield Chief Executive B Govindarajan said: “At Royal Enfield we were able to maintain the momentum. Hunter continued to perform well and recorded the highest sales in a single month. I am also delighted to be working with We shared that last month we launched the Super Meteor 650 in the Australian and New Zealand markets and the consumer response has been incredible.”
Royal Enfield delivered strong results for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2023, with the company delivering strong financial growth. Revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2023 was ¥3,804.32 million, witnessed growth ¥31.9332 billion for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2022 ¥37.21 billion at the end of the third quarter of fiscal 2023.The manufacturer also witnessed a consolidated net profit of ¥Sales in the March quarter were 9.06 billion, up 49%, driven by strong sales in the domestic and global markets.
Royal Enfield will launch a number of new models this financial year, including the highly anticipated Himalayan 450, as well as new models based on the J-Platform and 650 Twin platforms. The upcoming products will further help RE strengthen its position in the global midsize motorcycle segment, especially with new competitors from Harley-Davidson.
