Royal Enfield has started deliveries of the long-awaited Super Meteor 650 in India. The motorcycle is the new flagship of the Chennai-based manufacturer. This is a cruiser with three variants. There are interstellar, interstellar, and celestial.price is ¥350,000, ¥364,000 and ¥379,000 respectively. All prices are ex-showroom prices.
The Super Meteor uses the same engine as the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. As such, it is a 648 cc air-oil cooled parallel-twin engine capable of producing 46 bhp at 7,250 rpm with a peak torque output of 52.3 Nm at 5,650 rpm. The engines have been retuned to suit the characteristics of the cruiser.
The gearbox is the same 6-speed unit with slipper and assist clutches. It has a toe and heel shifter, and Royal Enfield shortened the gearing to compensate for the motorcycle’s heavier weight.

In terms of features, the Super Meteor 650 is equipped with LED headlights, Tripper Navigation and adjustable bars. There’s also a USB port awkwardly located behind the left panel.
The motorcycle’s braking duties are handled by a 320 mm disc at the front and a 300 mm disc at the rear. Suspension duties are performed by 43mm upside-down forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear.
Royal Enfield offers alloy wheels and tubeless tires as standard on the Super Meteor 650. The front wheels measure 19 inches wrapped in 100/90-section tires, while the rears are 16-inch units shod in wide 150/80-section tires.
Super Meteor has no direct competitors, the closest competitor is the Kawasaki Vulcan S. However, when it comes to pricing, the Super Meteor competes with the QJ Motor SRK 400, Ultraviolet F77 and KTM 390 Adventure.Cost of Super Meteor compared to Interceptor 650 ¥More than 60,000.
