Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 launched in India, price starts at Rs 3.49 lakh

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is the brand’s new flagship and is available in seven colors across the range. The model, which debuted at EICMA last year, is now available in India and Europe. The aggressive price tag makes it just a tad more expensive than the Interceptor 650, but there are tons of improvements in fit and finish, build quality, performance, and more. Deliveries of the new Super Meteor 650 will begin in India on February 1, 2023, and in Europe in March. European pre-orders start today.

The new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 uses the same 648 cc parallel twin electric motor as the 650 Twins, with 46.7 bhp and 52.3 Nm of peak torque. The model has been tested for over a million kilometers on the streets, tracks and proving grounds of India and the UK. The model takes its name from the original RE Super Meteor 700 sold in the 1950s, while the design remains that of a typical cruiser with relaxed ergonomics. This is the manufacturer’s first purpose-built cruiser motorcycle.

The Super Meteor 650 is also RE’s first to feature premium Showa USD forks and dual rear shocks. There is also a new cylinder head mount for added stiffness. The wheelbase is also 100mm longer than on the Interceptor 650, and the bike rides on a 19-inch front and 16-inch rear alloy hub setup. The low seat height of 740mm makes it suitable for rides of all sizes.

Other features include adjustable clutch and brake levers, analog instrument cluster with digital display, Tripper navigation pod, USB charging, LED headlights and a new unique fuel tank badge designed exclusively for the SM650. Speaking of which, the fuel tank has a capacity of 15.4 liters.
