Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 vs Benelli 502C: Design

Design-wise, the Super Meteor 650 is a true blue cruiser. It has a low stance with a big gas tank, fat rear tires and a scooped seat, while still having a hint of old-school design. On the other hand, the Benelli 502C looks like a power cruiser. It has a flat headlight, a beefy fuel tank and a tidy rear.

The Super Meteor 650 uses the same engine as the 650 Twins, but it has now been retuned. The engine produces 47 bhp at 7,250 rpm and a peak torque output of 52 Nm at 5,650 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and is air-oil cooled.

On the other hand, the Benelli uses a more advanced liquid-cooled engine, but with a displacement of 500 cc. The engine produces 46.85 bhp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque output of 46 Nm at 6,000 rpm. It also comes with a 6-speed gearbox.

The Super Meteor 650 was the first motorcycle from Royal Enfield to feature a dollar front fork. They measure 43mm and are from Showa. At the rear, there are two shocks with adjustable preload. Royal Enfield uses a single 320mm disc at the front and a single 300mm disc at the rear.

The Benelli 502C also has dollar forks up front, but they are 41mm and have a monoshock in the rear. Braking duties are performed by twin 280 mm discs at the front and 240 mm at the rear.
