Simple Energy is gearing up to launch its electric scooter, the Simple One, later this month. Ahead of the official launch, the electric two-wheeler maker has started rolling out the Simple One EV at its factory. Simple Energy shared the moment of the recent launch of the first electric scooter. After a long wait, Simple Energy will finally be taking the Simple One electric scooter to India on May 23.
The electric car maker claims the Simple One will be one of the few electric scooters that will offer the longest range and curb range anxiety. Simple Energy is calling the electric scooter “the first affordable premium electric vehicle in the country.” The company claims that the Simple One electric scooter can provide a range of up to 236 kilometers on a single charge.
For the past two years, the EV maker has been working to comply with the Automotive Industry Standard (AIS) 156 Amendment 3 battery standard. Manufacturers also say they spend just as much time vigorously testing their products under the harshest conditions.
The Simple One has received a lot of attention for its claimed range of 236km, and it can accelerate from 0-40km/h in 2.77 seconds. The Simple One has a top speed of 105 km/h. It will be equipped with a battery capacity of 4.8 kWh. The 8.5 kW electric motor is claimed to produce 4.5 kWh of power and a peak torque output of 72 Nm. The scooter is equipped with CBS and disc brakes. The scooter is also very practical, with a proper floor and 30 liters of under-seat storage. The electric scooter will also feature a touchscreen dashboard that will control various functions and get app connectivity.
When the electric automaker first announced the Simple One electric scooter, it was priced at ¥Standard and 110,000 ¥The Extra Range version is 145,000. However, expect a price increase when it re-launches later this month.
Simple Energy will sell the Simple One in four color schemes. These include Brazen Black, Namma Red, Azure Blue and Grace White.
