After several delays, Simple Energy is finally ready to launch its electric scooters in Bengaluru on January 23. Production of the Simple One has already begun at the manufacturer’s factory. Now, a test mule of the Simple One electric scooter has been spotted ahead of its launch. Once launched, the Simple One will compete with the Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X, TVS iQube S and Bajaj Chetak.
In spy shots, the camouflaged Simple One can be spotted on Indian roads. The manufacturer says it has been testing the scooter vigorously for the past two years. Simple One is now also compliant with Automotive Industry Standard (AIS) 156 Amendment 3. According to Simple, the scooter is now faster, more aesthetically pleasing, and offers unparalleled safety around the battery system and powertrain.
The company claims that the Simple One will be one of the few electric two-wheelers that will offer the longest range and dampen customer anxiety about range. Simple calls the One “the first affordable premium electric car in the country.”
Simple Energy will provide many features for this electric scooter.
The Simple One is known for its claimed range of 236km. The electric scooter has a top speed of 105 km/h and can accelerate from 0-40 km/h in 2.77 seconds. The battery has a capacity of 4.8 kWh and the electric motor is 8.5 kW producing 72 Nm.
Simple Energy will sell the Simple One in four color schemes. Available in Brazen Black, Namma Red, Azure Blue and Grace White. Design-wise, the Simple One looks sporty with cutouts and creases. There’s a touchscreen dashboard that controls the scooter’s various functions, and it’s also app-connected. It should also display a map and should switch between light and dark modes depending on lighting conditions.
