Skoda Superb Royal Green crowned

Skoda buyers excited about the imminent coronation of King Charles III can opt for a new royal green paint to mark the occasion.

The color was added to the company’s paint palette “to celebrate the official investiture of King Charles III and Queen Camilla”.

It’s a larger coronation memorabilia than the limited-edition Matchbox Gold State Coach model we showed off last week.

The new paint shades will be available to order from Tuesday, May 9, 2023, and will only be available on certain models and trim combinations.

For the flagship Skoda Superb hatchback and wagon, Royal Green can be combined with SE L and top Laurin & Klement specification.

To take full advantage of the Superb’s “palatial interior,” customers can choose black or beige interior trim on SE L models. The more premium L&K comes with leather upholstery, including a suitably plush cognac finish.

Royal Green paint options are also available on the sporty Skoda Octavia vRS and the practical Kodiaq SE L SUV.

Skoda’s passion for all things royal was inspired by the former Prince Charles’ many visits to the Czech Republic.

The new king, along with then-president Vaclav Havel, helped establish a heritage fund to help restore and preserve the country’s historic buildings. Funds raised helped restore the former St. Bartholomew’s Monastery in Prague’s Old Town, as well as the terraced gardens below Prague Castle.

The Prince of Wales visited Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic, three times in 1991, 2000 and 2010.

Skoda is yet to confirm pricing for its new Regal hue. Specified for the Superb, however – the rather similar looking – Amazonian Green costs £1,045.
