Domestic sales in January were 66,209 units, while Suzuki reported exports of 18,757 units last month. Both figures showed year-over-year growth. Sales of the two-wheeler giant also rose month-on-month, with 63,912 units sold in December 2022.

Suzuki India’s two-wheeler sales were driven by strong demand for its scooters. The Suzuki Access 125 continued to be the segment leader, with Avenis and Burgman Street also contributing decent numbers. The Suzuki Gixxer 155 series also continues to attract the company’s attention.

Suzuki also revealed a flex-fuel version of the Gixxer 250 at the 2023 Auto Expo last month. While the launch is still a while away, Suzuki is expected to unveil its refreshed E20 series in a few weeks. The company is also developing a new power product for India as part of the company’s global product plan. It will be interesting to see if this is the long-dodged Burgman Electric, which has been spotted several times for testing.
