Tata delivers 12 Tigor EVs to Gwalior Nagar Nigam

Tata Motors delivered 12 Tigor EVs to Gwalior Nagar Nigam in the presence of Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia. These electric vehicles will serve as the official city commuter for Nagar Nigam officials. The official tweet of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited disclosed the information. Last year, the Tata Nexon EV joined the fleet of the Indian Air Force.

Tata Tigor EV uses the same Ziptron EV technology as Nexon EV

The Tigor EV is the only compact sedan powered by an electric powertrain. It is powered by the same Ziptron EV technology as the Nexon EV. An electric motor is mounted on the front axle and produces 73 horsepower and 170 Nm of torque. The battery pack is a 26 kWh unit with a claimed range of 315 kilometers. It takes 8.5 hours to charge from 0% to 80% using a standard wall charger. Using a 25 kW DC charger, the battery can be charged from 0% to 80% in 60 minutes. There are also multiple ways to regenerate.

In terms of features, the Tigor EV is equipped with cruise control, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, tire pressure monitoring system, flat tire repair kit, digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with 8 speakers , automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheel, start/stop button, electrically adjustable ORVM with auto-fold, cooled glove box and more.

Tigor EV starts at ¥1.249 million, rising to ¥1.375 million. In this price range, it has to compete with the Citroen eC3 and Tiago EV. Tata Motors also sells the Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max in the Indian market. The brand will also launch electric versions of the Safari, Harrier, Punch and Altroz. In addition to this, there will be a new coupe-SUV called the Curvv that will sit between the Nexon and the Harrier.
