Tata Nexon EV crosses 50,000 sales since launch


Tata Motors has announced that the Nexon EV has crossed the 50,000 unit sales mark since its launch in 2020. This electric SUV has become one of the most popular EVs in the Indian market. Tata Motors is selling two versions of the Nexon EV. There is Prime and Max. Since its launch, Tata Motors has also made software updates that have added more features to the vehicle and even ironed out some bugs.

Tata Motors offers two versions of the Nexon EV: Prime and Max.

Nexon EV is sold in more than 500 cities in India and has driven more than 900 million kilometers on various terrains. According to Tata Motors, customers also took a long-distance trip of up to 1,500 km. On average, Nexon EV owners drive approximately 6.3 million kilometers per month, with intercity and out-of-town trips ranging from 100 to 400 kilometers.

Charging infrastructure is very important for electric vehicles. Tata currently has more than 6,000 charging stations in the country. Over 1500% growth from FY21 to FY23.

Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Head of Marketing, Sales and Service Strategy, Tata Passenger Vehicles Electric Vehicles Ltd. said, “The Nexon EV is India’s very own electric SUV that aims to deliver a cool, stylish and practical product. And a practical solution for faster adoption of EVs in India. Nexon EV customers have grown to 50,000 in just 3 years. This is a testament to how India sees EVs as the means of transportation in this day and age. We would like to thank the early adopters, They believed in the promise of Nexon EV and in turn allowed the EV ecosystem to build and grow into what it is today. We want more people to experience the promise of electric vehicles and move on to electric vehicles.”
