Team Honda’s Rajiv Sethu enters 2022 ARRC top 10

In a proud moment, Team Honda’s Rajiv Sethu broke through the top 10 at the final of the 2022 Asian Road Racing Championship (ARRC) at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand. Sethu finished the year 10th in the ARRC Asian Production 250 cc (AP250cc) class final. The driver showed solid performances throughout the season and finished the year on a high note.

Starting from 18th on the grid, Sethu moved up a spot on the first lap in the final race. A wet race meant the series finale was full of crashes, which helped Rajiv move up the ranks more quickly. By lap 8 the driver was in 10th place and held there until the checkered flag, adding 6 points to his overall score.

Meanwhile, teammate Senhil Kumar had a solid start from seventh but went off track on lap two. However, the Honda rider showed determination and kept pace with his rivals, finishing 14th and scoring two key points. With the final points, Rajiv Sethu won the championship with 37 points and entered the top 15, while Senthil finished 15th with A total of 13 points ended the season. Honda Racing finished the ARRC in the top 10.

Commenting on his performance, Rajiv Sethu said: “Today is the last race and I have no choice but to give my best. With the wind and rain, all our proportions and maths have changed. My focus is not on rushing, “It’s about staying in a stable position during the game. Based on my previous experience and training, I have tackled all the challenges and achieved points and positions for the team. Taking all the knowledge home, I will practice more and make Set up a new strategy to achieve another achievement for the team.”

At the end of the season, Senthil Kumar said: “It was a tough and exciting race for me. The weather was unfavorable and it created obstacles for all the drivers. I am happy with today’s performance because I was able to handle all the challenges well and other experienced drivers. Next season we will come back with a better strategy to get better results.”

Team Honda’s Kavin Quintal started from eighth on the grid to finish seventh in the Thailand Talent Cup (TTC) 2022m race. The Chennai teenager scored 14 points in the final round, taking his points total to 41 – a strong end to the season for the Indian driver. His teammate Mohsin P finished the season 16th in Round 6 and finished 13th overall with a time of 28:30.428. The 20-year-old racer from Kerala scored three points in his second international race.
