Greaves Cotton Limited’s electric vehicle business, Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited (GEMPL), has entered the high-speed electric two-wheeler segment with the launch of the Ampere Primus electric scooter.its price is ¥1,09,900 (ex-showroom). The brand says they are focusing on a ‘Make in India’ policy, are highly localized and use domestically sourced components.

The Ampere Primus is equipped with an LFP battery pack, PMS motor, belt drive and instrument cluster with connectivity technology and navigation. A dedicated phone app is also available.

The electric scooter has a top speed of 77 km/h. The rated torque output of the electric motor is 4 kW. The brand claims a true range of more than 100 kilometers on a full charge in Power mode. There’s also an Eco mode that offers maximum riding range. City and reverse modes are also available. The supplied battery pack is a 3 kWh unit equipped with a smart BMS. The brand has not yet revealed the charging time of the battery pack.

The brand says the Ampere Primus has ample legroom, wider seats and better drivability. There are two-tone body panels with a matte finish. Available in four colours, namely Himalayan White, Royal Orange, Havelock Blue and Buck Black.
