Tesla has unveiled a new Ultra Red livery theme for its Model S and Model X electric vehicles built at the automaker’s Fremont plant. Ultra Red paint is a new color option for the flagship model introduced a few years ago. Additionally, this new paint theme replaces the previous Multi-Coat Red color that was also used on the Model 3 and Model Y. The new color option will cost buyers $3,000, which is $500 more than Multi-Coat Red.
With the addition of new colors, Tesla Model S and Model X are now available in a variety of paint options, such as Pearl White Multi-Coat, Pure Black, Midnight Silver Metallic, Dark Blue Metallic and Ultra Red. While Pearl White Multi-Coat is standard on Model S and Model X, other color options come with additional offers.

The new Ultra red paint color for the Tesla Model S and Model X looks more sophisticated and striking than the previous Multi-Coat Red. Also, it is a much darker shade than Multi-Coat Red. Interestingly, the introduction of this new color theme comes against a backdrop of criticism for using relatively simple paint color options.
Other color options previously introduced by Tesla for different models recently include Midnight Cherry Red and Quicksilver premium paint color in Europe. These colors have been added to the Tesla Model Y produced at the Giga Berlin factory.
Based on feedback and paint shop output, the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y could also introduce an Ultra Red option. In addition to this, Tesla may bring more color options to its electric vehicles. However, the EV maker hasn’t revealed any details about when it will do so and what the new color options will be.
