Maserati is working on an all-electric iteration of the Levante SUV, which it says will arrive in 2025. British publication Autocar UK claims the upcoming Maserati Levante EV will be powered by a tri-motor powertrain, with a peak power output expected to reach 745 horsepower. In addition, a dual-motor version will also be available. The report also claims that the upcoming Maserati Levante EV will adopt the Folgore nomenclature, just like the OEM’s other EVs such as the Grecale and GranTurismo.
While the launch of the Maserati Levante EV is all but certain, it’s unclear whether the Stellantis-owned Italian luxury car brand will continue to sell an internal-combustion engine-powered Levante SUV alongside electric vehicles.

The current-generation Maserati Levante has been on sale since 2016, and a refresh is long overdue. The car received a minor facelift for 2021, but the next-generation model is expected to receive major upgrades. Maserati is currently working on the GranTurismo Folgore, which will be the brand’s first production electric vehicle once it goes on sale later this year.
The Levante Folgore will be a more affordable car than the GranTurismo Folgore. Also, the Levante EV is expected to offer better range than the GranTurismo Folgore. The Grecale Folgore promises a range of 482 kilometers on a single charge. Expect a similar range from the upcoming Levante Folgore. Meanwhile, the Maserati Quattroporte sedan is also expected to switch to an all-electric powertrain soon. According to reports, the Quattroporte Folgore will be launched in 2024 with a 105 kWh battery and a range of more than 482 kilometers.
