The Porsche Cayenne is the automaker’s bestseller, with global sales totaling 95,604 in 2022. The automaker is currently developing an updated version of the SUV, which is expected to launch in April this year. This will replace the current-generation model that has been on sale since 2017. However, the report claims that the next generation of the Cayenne SUV will feature an all-electric variant.

The new Porsche Cayenne EV is said to be based on the automaker’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, which was developed in partnership with another luxury car brand owned by the Volkswagen Group. This PPE architecture will also underpin the next-generation all-electric Macan SUV. The platform is used by the Audi Q6 E-Tron and Audi A6 E-Tron.

Styling-wise, the upcoming Porsche Cayenne EV will differ significantly from the current-generation model on the market, the report says. The Cayenne EV will arrive after the Macan EV but before the already announced larger three-row EV. The Cayenne EV is expected to produce a peak power of 603 horsepower and a maximum torque of more than 1,000 Nm. The electric SUV will feature a battery pack of over 100 kWh, making it more powerful than the Macan EV. It will get 270 kW charging technology, allowing for ultra-fast charging. Additionally, the report claims that it will offer a range of around 482 kilometers on a single charge.
