Electric vehicles are slowly gaining popularity in the Indian market. There are now several electric four-wheelers on the market that one can buy. One of the biggest issues with electric vehicles is range. This can be solved with charging infrastructure, but it is still improving or has very good driving range in India.
Luxury EVs do have good range, but needless to say they are expensive. However, some premium EVs also offer great range and are more affordable than them. Here are four EVs currently on sale in the Indian market that might fit some people’s budget.
Kia EV6: 77.4 kWh battery pack, 708 km range

The EV6 is the first of seven all-electric models Kia has planned for the global market.
Kia India has recently started taking bookings for its EV6. The EV6 is equipped with a 77.4 kWh battery pack and can travel 708 kilometers on a single charge. Kia offers two versions of the EV6, the GT Line and GT Line AWD.Their price is ¥6.095 million and ¥6.595 million respectively. Both prices are ex-showroom prices.
Hyundai Ioniq 5: 72.6 kWh battery pack, 631 km range

The Ioniq 5 is Hyundai India’s second electric vehicle and is a technological cousin of Kia’s EV6.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is one of the weirdest looking cars on the market right now. It shares a platform with the Kia EV6. The Ioniq 5 is coming to India as CKD as it is priced lower than the EV6.it’s cost ¥4.495 million ex-showroom. The Ioniq 5 is equipped with a 72.6 kWh battery pack and can travel 631 kilometers on a single charge.
BYD Atto 3: 60.48 kWh battery pack, cruising range 521 kilometers

Then there’s BYD’s electric SUV, the Atto 3. The brand has delivered 700 of them, and they’re packed with lots of quirky features and styling. The electric SUV is equipped with a 60.48 kWh battery pack and has a claimed range of 521 kilometers.BYD offers two versions of the Atto 3, with the standard version priced at ¥3.399 million, then the special edition ¥3.449 million. Both prices are ex-showroom prices.
MG ZS EV: 50.3 kWh battery pack, 447 km range

The ZS EV has received several styling updates, mainly a new front grille on the face. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.
MG’s first EV for the Indian market is the ZS EV. It has a 50.3 kWh battery pack and can travel 461 kilometers on a single charge. MG offers three versions of the ZS EV – Excite and Exclusive.Their price is ¥2.338 million and ¥2.73 million. Both prices are ex-showroom prices.
