Triumph Speed ​​400: India-spec model is heavier

The India-spec Speed ​​400 model is 6kg heavier. The UK-spec motorcycle weighs 170kg, while the India-spec model weighs 176kg. The main reason behind this is the mandatory saree guard in India.

Triumph Speed ​​400: Hardware and Features

The Speed ​​400 features a 43mm inverted large piston fork up front with 140mm of travel and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear with preload adjustment and 130mm of travel. Braking duties are performed by 300 mm discs at the front and 230 mm at the rear. The motorcycle comes standard with dual-channel ABS.

In terms of functionality, the Speed ​​400 features an analog speedometer with an LCD screen. The motorcycle comes with an immobilizer, switchable traction control and a throttle-by-wire.

Triumph Speed ​​400: Manufactured by Bajaj Auto

The Speed ​​400 will be produced at Bajaj Auto’s new manufacturing facility in Chakan (Bajaj calls it Chakan 2). The factory has a capacity of 25,000 vehicles per month, but as of now, the factory will be able to produce 5,000 vehicles.

Triumph Speed ​​400: Engine Specs

Powering the Speed ​​400 is an all-new TR Series engine. It was a fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine with a cubic capacity of 398.15 cc. It puts out 39.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 37.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission with slip assist clutch.

The Speed ​​400 is the most affordable motorcycle in the Triumph line.It sells for $Rs 2.23 lakh for the first 10,000 customers, after which the price will increase to $233,000. Both prices are ex-showroom prices. Reservations for motorcycles are already open.
