Ultraviolette F77 becomes India’s first e-bike with Bosch dual-channel ABS

Bengaluru-based Ultraviolet Automotive launched the F77 earlier this month, the first high-performance electric motorcycle to go on sale in India. The new Ultraviolet F77 delivers some excellent performance figures, and the electric motorcycle is equally able to stop in good time with the help of a Bosch dual-channel ABS unit. In fact, it is the first electric motorcycle in India to be equipped with a safety system that can control braking at high speeds.

Given the strong performance figures, it’s only fair that braking systems are equally powerful and safe on electric motorcycles. The ABS 10 base of Bosch Motorcycle has been adapted to the F77, and it also integrates the rear wheel lift relief function, which helps the rear wheel to keep on the ground and reduces the risk of rollover.

The Ultraviolet F77 is currently competing in its own segment. The electric motorcycle is equipped with a PMS direct drive motor with 38.8 bhp (29 kW) and a peak torque of 95 Nm. Top speed is 147 km/h. There are three riding modes – Glide, Combat and Ballistic. The F77 has two battery options – 7.1 kWh and 10.3 kWh – with ranges of 206km and 307km (IDC) respectively from either pack. The F77 is priced from ¥Original 380,000, rising to ¥455k for the Recon variant. All prices are ex-showroom prices.
