Vida V1 Pro and V1 Plus electric scooters get price cut, start at Rs 1.2 lakh

Hero MotoCorp has launched electric scooters under its sub-brand Vida. There are two electric scooters on sale, the V1 Pro and V1 Plus. The brand has now announced a price cut for the two electric scooters. V1 Plus is now priced at ¥1,19,900 and VIDA V1 Pro is now priced at ¥139,900. These prices are ex-showroom prices in India and include the cost of the portable charger and the Fame II subsidy.

This price reduction has made electric scooters more accessible to a large number of customers. Having said that, the prices will vary across the country depending on the respective state subsidies. Pre-orders for the Vida V1 are already open for eight new cities and deliveries will begin soon.

The V1 Pro sits above the V1 Plus in the lineup. The design of both scooters is the same. Both come with two removable batteries. The V1 Plus has a battery capacity of 3.44 kWh, while the V1 Pro has a 3.94 kWh battery pack. Thus, the Vida V1 Pro has a range of 165 km, while the V1 Plus has a range of 143 km.

Both electric scooters feature a 6 kW electric motor but produce a continuous output of 3.9 kW. The Pro is quicker to 40 kmph as it accelerates in 3.2 seconds compared to the 3.4 seconds required by the Plus. Having said that, both scooters have a top speed of 80 km/h.

The brand currently plans to expand its presence to 100 cities by the end of 2023. It will leverage Hero MotoCorp’s vast dealer network to rapidly expand its presence across the country. It has started expansion plans in eight new cities – Pune, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Nashik, Hyderabad, Chennai, Calicut and Cochin. VIDA is already present in Bangalore, Jaipur and Delhi. As part of its digital-first, omni-channel approach, VIDA currently has experience centers in Bengaluru and Jaipur, and a pop-up store in Delhi.
