Volvo is gearing up to launch another EV in India in the form of the C40 Recharge. The Swedish luxury car brand has confirmed that it will launch the C40 Recharge in India later this year, which will be the automaker’s second electric car in the country after the XC40 Recharge. The Volvo C40 Recharge, already available in global markets, will strengthen the car brand’s electric vehicle portfolio in India.
The automaker has been working to increase its EV market share with new models. The C40 Recharge will play a key role in this strategy. The EV will be imported into India and assembled locally via the Complete Knock Down (CKD) route. Volvo will assemble electric cars at its Bengaluru plant. Volvo India claims that it is increasingly focusing on electric vehicles, while at the same time, it will continue to focus on mild hybrid models.
