The Volvo C40 Recharge EV was officially launched in the country on Wednesday, June 14. The C40 Recharge is Volvo’s second all-electric model to launch in India after the XC40 Recharge due in July 2022. The company is betting big that both models pave the way for its all-electric roads around the world, with India a key market increasingly showing promise for the Swedish car brand, playing a pivotal role on the global map.
Volvo wants to be an all-electric car company by 2030, a goal it believes can be achieved earlier in India. The XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge will play a key role in this strategy. Since its launch, Volvo has succeeded in India with the XC40 Recharge as the most affordable luxury electric SUV in the country. Now, the company hopes to replicate that performance with its new coupe-SUV.
