Volvo put a lot of meaning into the all-electric version of the XC40 SUV, the XC40 Recharge. It is the world’s first Volvo model to be powered entirely by batteries. It will be officially launched in India in July 2022 as the country’s first locally assembled luxury electric SUV.

By 2025, approximately 50% of Volvo cars worldwide will be fully electric. The company also stressed that it aims to put at least 1 million electric vehicles on the world’s roads within the next two years. “This highlights our aim to reduce the environmental impact of our products and improve the air quality in our cities.
