Dealers told HT Auto that orders for the Triumph Speed 400 are filling up quickly, meaning a waiting period of 12 to 16 weeks

The Triumph Speed 400 is being manufactured in India for the world and the motorcycle will be sold in several markets. India is the first market to get the bike, which is being produced at Bajaj Auto’s new Chakan 2 factory in Maharashtra. The company has previously said it wants to start series production in a staggered manner to ensure the factory becomes a “well-oiled” factory with new machinery, labor and new motorcycles.

What is the waiting period for the Triumph Speed 400?

Still, high demand for the Speed 400 prompted Bajaj to ramp up production earlier than expected. Initial production will only cater to Indian demand, with an international launch slated for early 2024. The Indian factory will also export the motorcycles as assembled kits to Triumph factories in the UK, Brazil and Thailand. This will keep the price of the motorcycle competitive in all markets.

It is worth noting that the current high demand requires less than 20 Triumph dealers to meet and Bajaj Auto will expand the Triumph dealer network in the coming months. The company plans to open about 30 stores by the end of July, about 50 showrooms by October, and 100 in 80 cities across the country by March 2024. Most of these facilities will also provide service support.

Triumph Motorcycles is currently taking pre-orders for the Speed 400 online and at dealerships, with an ex-showroom price of $233,000 ( $The first 2.23 $10,000 customers). The modern classic roadster marked the British marque’s entry into the mass-market segment, competing with segment leaders Royal Enfield, Jawa, Yezdi, Honda and Harley-Davidson. We recently rode the Triumph Speed 400 and were impressed with its level of quality, power and ride. You can check out the video review below.

Bajaj is at the forefront of Triumph sales and distribution in India and the long-term success of the Speed 400 depends on after-sales experience. The company announced a committed 16,000km service with a two-year, unlimited kilometer warranty as standard. The same applies to genuine accessories. The Speed 400 promises to cost less to maintain than a 350 cc Royal Enfield for three years.
