Tesla customers are often seen performing unique stunts with their beloved electric vehicles. However, this may be the first time a Tesla Model 3 has been spotted towing something the electric compact sedan wasn’t intended to tow. With a maximum towing capacity of 1,000kg, the EV is suitable for towing a mid-size camper trailer or a trailer carrying a boat or two motorcycles. However, the EV was spotted towing a trailer with a modular house weighing 6,803kg.
A video was shared on Twitter showing a Tesla Model 3 towing a trailer full of modular homes through the streets of Las Vegas. The modular house weighs 6,803 kg and the loaded trailer has a total weight of 8,618 kg. While the video shows a Tesla Model 3 dragging a modular home through stop-and-go traffic on the Las Vegas Strip, it also includes a bus between two Model 3s at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway drag racers, each towing a modular home.

Galiano Tiramani, founder of Las Vegas-based construction technology company Boxabl, told Teslarati that he wanted to demonstrate the transportability of the company’s room modules and prove that there is no better vehicle than a Tesla. “As expected, the Model 3 was excellent, able to tow a 15,000-pound Casita with ease,” he said.
He further stated that in order to make the Tesla Model 3 towing work possible, his team installed a towing hitch on the EV to ensure that the car can perform tasks in a better way. “Even though the Tesla Model 3 doesn’t have a trailer hitch, we decided to pick one up and modify it. We knew that while it couldn’t legally tow a Casita, it was powerful enough,” he further added.
