Babyark claims to use high-end materials and the latest technology to create the safest child car seats in the world.
Renowned automotive designer Frank Stephenson was responsible for designing the Babyark seat through his Frank Stephenson Design Agency.
When exhibited at CES 2023, Babyark received an Innovation Award.
Inspired by supercars and nature
Frank Stephenson has spent most of his career sketching performance cars, from the Ford Escort RS Cosworth to the Maserati MC12 and McLaren P1. This experience is incorporated into the Babyark, which utilizes carbon fiber to form an egg-shaped frame.
Energy-absorbing steel coils are incorporated into the design. During impact, these slow down the forward momentum of the seat to reduce the force transmitted to the child.
The unique “BioArk” side impact protection system is clearly inspired by woodpeckers. The bird’s plate-like skeletal structure was copied and patented.
The BabyArk seat also has 14 individual sensors that monitor whether both the seat and the child are securely fastened. They communicate with a dedicated app to alert phone users if a child is mistakenly left in the car.

The Babyark is designed for children aged 0-6 and can be rotated between front and rear positions.
However, this high-end technology and design doesn’t come cheap. The Babyark chair, inspired by the US market, is priced at $990 (£820). UK prices have yet to be announced.
