Yamaha Motor India has sent out invitations for a new product launch on February 13, 2023. While the company has been tight-lipped about the launch, we think the two-wheeler maker will launch its new OBD-2 compliance motorcycle for the 2023 model year (MY2023).
Yamaha is likely to update all of its mass-market offerings, including the FZ-FI, FZ-X, YZF-R15 V4, and more. The latter is expected to feature a new TFT screen as part of the upgrade. Also expect to see new features due to OBD-2 compliance, which will help in real-time monitoring of emission levels as mandated by the new norm.

The 2023 Yamaha MT-15 is also expected to feature full LED lighting, while the FZ-X is expected to receive more significant changes, including tall front fenders, revised headlights, a windshield, and dual-channel ABS. This will make the Yamaha FZ-X the second motorcycle in the segment to get dual-channel ABS after the Bajaj Pulsar N160.

All motorcycles are also expected to come with new paint options and feature upgrades to bring more value to these offerings. Finally, both motorcycles are expected to see price increases when they go on sale in a few days.
Recently, Honda Two-Wheelers India launched the OBD-2 compliant Activa 6G, while also introducing the H-Smart anti-theft feature on the scooter. Not only Honda and Yamaha, but other two-wheeler manufacturers are also expected to update their products to meet the new norms before the April 1 deadline.
