Up to now, Yulu claims to have achieved more than 75 million green deliveries, benefiting more than 50,000 delivery partners. Pradeep Puranam, Head of Revenue and Operations at Yulu, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Zomato due to our shared concern for the environment and the need to provide delivery partners with a safe, reliable and sustainable means of daily delivery commutes.”

The purpose-built DeX EV and extensive network of battery swap stations will help boost revenue for delivery partners by as much as 40%, he added. “Clients are also increasingly looking to reduce their carbon footprint, so it’s a win-win for the client, the delivery executive and both companies,” Puranam added.

As for Zomato, the company is part of The Climate Group’s EV100 initiative and has pledged to convert its delivery fleet to 100% electric by 2030. “With Yulu’s support, we are delighted to be on the right path to achieve this goal. We are excited to continue our efforts to create a greener Zomato and a better world for all,” said Mohit Mohit, Chief Operating Officer, Food Delivery, Zomato Sardana said.

Last month, Zomato also partnered with electric vehicle energy infrastructure and service provider SUN Mobility to deploy electric two-wheelers powered by the latter over the next two years. Under the partnership, SUN Mobility will provide battery swap solutions for last-mile deliveries, while initial fleet deployments will begin in the nation’s capital.
