Volkswagen will offer the ID.7 in two broad trims called Pro and Pro S. Both are powered by electric motors capable of producing 282 horsepower. The Pro comes with an 82.0 kWh battery pack that claims to provide a range of up to 615 kilometers on a single charge. It also supports 170 kW DC fast charging. The Pro S has a larger 91.0 kWh battery pack, enough to provide a range of 700 kilometers. It supports DC fast charging up to 200kW.

The ID.7 is 4,961 mm long and has a wheelbase of 2,966 mm. It’s slightly smaller than the Mercedes-Benz EQE electric sedan. It features an aerodynamically optimized front fascia with slim LED headlights connected by a slim light strip. The ID.7 can be equipped with an optional panoramic sunroof that changes from opaque to transparent at the touch of a button.

The cabin of the electric sedan is equipped with comfort functions and digital controls. Instead of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, the ID.7 has a small screen focused on displaying driver-relevant information such as warnings and speed. A head-up display with augmented reality is standard and can display additional information such as GPS directions. The highlight of the interior is a self-contained 15-inch infotainment system that controls pretty much everything. Volkswagen says the infotainment system is more intuitive and customizable, and features two touch bars and a home button.

The automaker says the EV also comes with a state-of-the-art air conditioning system. The vents are fitted with motors that move them both vertically and horizontally so that they can distribute air over a large area of the cabin. It can also respond to voice commands.
