Lamborghini set for record sales in 2022

New figures from Lamborghini show that 2022 is the Italian company’s most successful year ever.

Lamborghini delivered some 9,233 SUVs and supercars last year, breaking the 9,000 milestone for the first time.

Lamborghini also posted record financial performance figures. Full-year total turnover will be €2.38bn (£2.09bn), up 22% on 2021.

Operating income also surged by 56% to €614m (£539m).

Paolo Poma, Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Automobili Lamborghini, said: “In recent years, the economic and geopolitical situation has been difficult, but we have been able to demonstrate our resilience and ability to strive for an excellent economic and financial performance . Last year was our best year in all financial and business terms. It means we can be optimistic about the growth of our brand and company.”

The Urus SUV continues to be Lamborghini’s most popular model in 2022. With 5,357 examples delivered, Urus sales are also up 7 percent over 2021.

Deliveries of the Huracan jumped 20 percent to 3,113 vehicles. The off-road-capable Huracan Sterrato (pictured above) will be launched as the final iteration of the V10-powered supercar.

Finally, in the final year of production, 753 examples of the V12 Aventador were delivered to new owners.

The U.S. remains Lamborghini’s biggest sales market, followed by China and Germany. The UK ranks fourth in the chart with 653 new car deliveries in 2022.

This year Lamborghini will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a new plug-in hybrid supercar: a replacement for the Aventador. Look out for an in-depth preview of automotive research next week.
